How it all started....In 2001 I worked as a computer programmer. One day I went to lunch and when I returned half my department had been laid-off and all of their work was on my desk! I decided it was time for a career change. I had always dreamed of owning my own business and had spent many lunch hours tanning to de-stress so I wondered if a tanning salon might be a profitable business and I started doing research...
My daughter decided she'd like to make it a "family" business so we spent the next year tanning at salons across Colorado asking questions and taking notes. We found several salons still using tanning beds from the 90's! Some beds were operating with cracked acrylics and broken buttons (one salon gave us a pair of pliers to turn on the bed), and most salons had stained carpets and the old slatted doors. These were all sub-standard to our way of doing business and we knew we could do better!
After we exited each salon we would sit in the car and make a list of things we liked and disliked. We figured we were average consumers and what we liked so would the majority of the tanning public. So we designed our salon with everything from the "liked list". Please continue salon tour.....
